QUALITY MOTORCYCLE PAINTING AT REASONABLE PRICES

This is the first time I have ever posted to a forum and I am happy to be one of the folks to jump on the bandwagon of the Vintage Vendor. Brent is a class act and a true artist. I recently had Brent paint an older BMW tank for me after I took it to someone that had started to do a poor job and kept raising the price every time I spoke to them. I was undecided about the smaller details and Brent had the eye for the details and some amazing ideas. His prices were exactly what he quoted and not a penny more and on time. I just believe that when someone does that good a job, to tell as many as possible.

SUBMITTED FOR NORTON OWNER STEVE MINGRONE -
Brent,
I wanted to send you a quick note on how pleased I am with the paint work
you did on my 1975 Norton Commando tank and side covers. They turned out
better than I imagined! Your honesty and communication throughout the
process was above and beyond what I would normally expect. I have to admit
I was leery about packing the tank and side covers and sending them cross
country to have them painted by someone I never met. Your great reviews and
communication put my mind at ease. You delivered as promised! Thanks again
for the top notch job and feel free to use me as a reference for any future
work.
Regards,
Steve Mingrone

I feel entitled to, again, join the ranks of those who can rave about the work done by Brent Budgor. This marks my 5th bike done by The Vintage Vendor-- certainly not the last. I can go on by saying that over the last few years I've been dealing with him, I feel honored to have established a friendship with such a dedicated man. From the very beginning, there was a level of comfort when we first made contact. It was through an ebay auction, I was high bidder on paint service he offered back then. I was a bit uneasy thinking about sending all of my steel Norton tins from California to a complete stranger in Vermont. That is, until we spoke on the phone. Now, 5 motorcycles later, and a few more planned, I will never use another painter for any of my projects as long as Brent is willing to do the work. For the price (which is way too reasonable in my opinion) I get an absolutely professional, mirror-like, "Caution! Wet Paint!", better than factory paint job. In the past, I have paid way more with the other guy, only to wait and wait up to 3 months for them to do a poor job and have to re-paint at the cost of more time and lost momentum. Brent's work is incredible from the start and has remained consistent as long as I have been using him. I've never felt like I waited at all because I am kept current with photo emails detailing the progress. In a couple of weeks time, a box shows up and I only wish I could shake the man's hand when I open it. A great human being and a gifted painter. Thanks for everything!

I have had the privilege of working with Brent for a number of years. Both when I owned Frank's Brit Bike Barn in NH and since I sold the business 3 years ago. Over the years he has done numerous painting/repair jobs for me. The work was always performed in a highly professional manner, on time and reasonably priced. I would recommend his services to anyone.
Sincerely,

I had Brent paint a tank and side cover set for me a couple of months ago. It was also my first time dealing with him and just like others have said....it was a great experience.

His communication with the customer via e-mails and photos is top-notch. And the quality of his workmanship is excellent.

I received my tins back from him in early April and left them in the box until several weeks ago and upon fitment of the tank I noticed that some bubbling in one area had appeared. The paint was perfect when I received it from him but something happened during 6-8 weeks of storage. It could have been something that occured while the tank was sitting in the box, I could have got something on it...I simply don't know. I immediately called Brent on the phone , explained the problem and he requested some photos, which I promptly sent. Upon looking at the photos he told me to send the tank back for inspection. He repaired/refinished the tank and it looks great. We still don't know what caused the issue but it was taken care of and promptly returned.

Look up the word "integrity" in the dictionary and I'm sure that Brent's picture will be right there.

Thanks again Brent

I bought a NOS BSA Gold Star 4 gal tank (rare!!) which I had sent from the seller directly to Brent for painting. Because these tanks are all chrome they were coated with cosmoline before being shipped to the US. Brent removed the cosmoline and found that the chrome was "stained" or clouded, apparently from being coated with cosmoline for 50 years. He first thought we would have to re-chrome it but decided later to have a go at polishing. He was able to bring the luster in the chrome back with considerable effort and time, allowing him to proceed with the paint work. The paint finish is mirror-like and thanks to his determination, we were able to keep the original old chrome, which is deeper and richer looking than present day chrome.
It can't be any better than this.

Another testimony on the great work Brent does !!! I bought this tank and sidecover set off of fleabay, already painted in the "metalic/metalflake/sparkle orange" (Norton OEM closest match would be "Fireflake Golden Bronze") you see below. However, it had no lettering or pinstriping. :( Sent the set to Brent and he did his usual SUPER high quality work ... PAINTING the pinstripes AND gas tank lettering !!! Then clearcoated over again. 8) I am very pleased !!! :D I had him paint only pinstripes on the sidecovers, as the only way to get the lettering level with the top of the Z-plate (the way I prefer) is to have the sidecovers mounted. So ... when I got them back, I mounted the "850 Commando" sidecover stickers myself. May have them clear coated again later ? Yes, the engine is a 1971 750, but I hope to mount my 850 motor sometime in the near future. Brent did ALL the paint, pinstripe, and tank lettering on the Blue one though. Cheers.

Another positive testimonial for Brent. I originally went to him for paint on my ’74 Commando thinking I knew what I wanted but after he sent numerous photos of some of his past work my initial choice went out the window. SInce then he’s done 2 more jobs for me on a ’75 Norton and ’69 BSA and they’ve all been nothing short of perfection. It’s great to work with someone that actually listens to what you want, offers sound advice and consistently delivers in a short time at a reasonable price. What else could you ask for?

One other positive about Brent, I recently met him in Vermont and not only is he a fantastic painter, he’s a lot of fun to hang around. If you have the opportunity to meet Brent in person or talk to him on the phone you’ll know you’re dealing with someone with high integrity and who’s putting their absolute best into their work.

Brent painted the tank and side covers for my 69 BSA Firebird and I am very happy with the experience and the result. He was great to deal with and very responsive. Very helpful in helping me decide on what color and the completed project back in less than 2 weeks. Brent will be painting my 74 Commando as it goes through the restoration/modification process this winter.

Brent just painted my sidecovers and tank for my 74 Commando. I went with the "Gus" look (Check out Classic Bike Experience for more on "Gus"). Brent had lots of pictures that helped me choose the colors. I went with black cherry pearl as the base, with candy apple red inserts and gold striping and lettering. I'll post some pictures after I get the tank back on.

I'm very satisfied with the result and the service. I definitely recommend Brent.

After recieving my tank and side panels from Brent I decided that the tank would be ok sitting on my bench for just a second. That's all it too for it to fall off and slide down between the bench and concrete block. A quick email to Brent and the tank was shipped and back on the bike in a couple of weeks. He was able to fix the scratch and dent and blend in the paint without having to do a total repaint. Perfect work. Take a look.

Yes indeed. I've sung this praise before and will do it again: I've sent more than a half a dozen jobs to Brent over the last while, and he always goes the extra mile. Whether fixing something that needs minor repair, or doing up big, one-off jobs with custom schemes. And it looks stunning to-boot.

Thanks Brent.

I RE=POSTED THIS FOR ONDER AS HE WAS HAVING TROUBLE FINDING THE ORIGINAL POST - BRENT

Vintage Vendor Painting (Brent)

Well there are lots of Vintage Vendor painting threads here but I cannot
seem to find the main one so here is ANOTHER SATISFIED CUSTOMER.
All the comments you've read are the same again too. You know nothing
worse than nothing to complain about from the personal constant in
touch service to the tailoring the job to your requirements to the
correct mix of paint and on and on.
I ve already forgotten what it cost and I dont care. What I got
was what I wanted and what is that worth?
PRICELESS.
Thanks again Brent!

...oh and he gets it done in a timely manner.

Hey everyone, if you're looking for great paint work at a great price... look no further. I highly recommend Brent at Vintage Vendor!
Just received my Norton Commando tins back a couple weeks ago and couldn't be happier.
In additional to super high quality paint, Brent even took care of a few tricky dents that came out flawless. Turnaround was quick and communication/shipping was spot on.

THANK YOU BRENT! Awesome job!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I just can't say enough about Brent's work, and his work ethic. He just did up a Laverda SFC for one of my customers, and had to take a whale of an alloy tank and smooth it out, paint it up, give me the flat logo on the side, etc, as well as color match to an old set of original body panels (SFCs don't grow on trees), and the outcome was spectacular.

This is why he always gets my business, and I do keep him busy! Thanks, Brent.

I noticed the Laverda stuff in the background of a lot of my pictures and I'm pretty sure it got more attention than my stuff did. I'll let you folks decide...

Paint should not have been in this recessed area. Seems pretty obvious, and it's chipping already.

I waited the better part of a month for some acknowledgement of this and never heard a reply. I figure I owe it to anyone who reads all of the good reviews like I did. Mine will be re-painted locally.

And you spoke to him about it? Id not be happy either. But would seem to me that
he would attend to any bitches if only because of the Power of the Forum.
I would expect that he will speak here.
Better yet, put it on the general discussion where more will see it.

I have responded to Snorton74's concerns privately as soon as I saw this posted. Things have been resolved amicably.

It's nice to come across a painter that cares about what he does, and does a first-class job. It's nice to find a painter he work at fair prices. Or communicates well. Or gets stuff done on time. Or provides good creative input. Or sends you pictures of your work right after it's shot. Or ships promptly.
But it's GREAT to find someone who does ALL that stuff!
Thanks, Brent, for a great job on my Guzzi tank. You'll be doing my work from now on.....
