I'm seeking a source for a replacement belt for my Quiet Power Drive (QPD) primary drive. The tooth form is Super Torque (STD) which is different from rounded or trapezoidal tooth forms. The dimensions of the belt are: 8 mm tooth pitch, 30 mm belt width, 112 teeth (896 mm length). I believe the original belts were Goodyear Super Torque Pd belts but that product line was purchased some years ago by Continental and it's now sold under the Conti Tech brand name.
I've tried to purchase a replacement from Bob Oswald at QPD and it's been difficult and I'm not sure how much longer he'll be supplying them.
There are belts on the market with fiberglass cords, aramid cords and carbon fiber cords with prices varying from $20 (D&D) to $350 (Optibelt).
Has anyone on this list identified a suitable belt as a replacement that can take the power and running conditions experienced when installed on a Norton Commando?
