I'm not sure my petcocks are original, but my valve just doesn't allow for full fuel flow. No foreign blockage, but the rubber seal seems to be the bottle neck, possibly the result of alcohol. One of the websites had a (rather expensive) petcock labeled "The last petcock you'll have to buy". I'm all for that, but the valves just don't look stock. Does anyone make a high quality petcock, ideally with Viton seals, that look at least close to stock?

Thanks

I use BAP petcocks on most of my bikes. Not one has leaked yet and they are reasonably cheap. Some people don't like how they look but I think they are fine.

If they have any type of rubber seal in them, then they are not the originals.

You can restore some of the flow if you remove the taps/petcocks from the tank and then run a suitable sized drill bit through them while they are still assembled to trim off the excess rubber from the seals.
Those tubular seal taps do not flow as much fuel as the original style conical brass seat taps.
UK made pattern conical seat replacements are available from a few suppliers in the UK, but I don't know if they are available in the US or elsewhere? The BAPs are a good alternative.

I get mine from Len Craig (eBay seller electrovectors)

I too am using the BAP (Italian made?) fuel taps because I got very tired of dealing with the disintegrating rubber seal in the standard ones.

That's a great price. I bought several from a UK eBay seller named "rectoryantiques" for 7.99:

Price quoted above by LAB from "electrovectors" is a bit less. Both are less expensive (even with air postage to the US) than most of the US vendors I checked out. Air post from the UK to me in the rural western US is about a week. Not much different than from the eastern US.
