This is my opinion on the subject. Powder coating is nice and easy if you do not have access to 2 pak painting. However, if you powder coat, ask the company to hot zinc spray first to protect the parts, just powder coating over metal is going to mean future corrosion under the coating in the future. Also be aware that where ever parts connect together with fasteners, the thickness of the coating will cause issues with assembly, holes and tabs etc. Also when you do get a stone chip, it will be a deep pit, again the thickness of the coating.
Good 2-pak is easier to touch up and less problematic with attachments, especially the engine/gearbox cradle.
