We all loved the ease of posting photos with Photobucket. So much so it never occurred to us that one day they might screw us over.

But here we are post-apocalypse and it is my worthless opinion that the quality of the information here in the forum is suffering for lack of photos. People ask for help but can't show respsonders what they are asking about. Meanwhile people try to post helpful content but due to differences in how we describe things may or may not actually get the point across.

I bought a VIP membership long ago because I felt then and do now that the information I get here is worth the price and I want to help support the forum. So I know nothing about how to post photos in a post-photobucket world.

Except it is real easy with a VIP membership.

Russ,
Actually, there are "add ons" for both the Firefox and Chrome browsers which will allow anyone to defeat PhotoBuckets' blocking of third party photo hosting. See the Technical Information sticky for info on how and where to get these add ons. FYI, it is still possible to post PhotoBucket photos to this [and other] site. You will need the above mentioned add on to view these photos.

The Norton is a simple machine, a simple copy-paste for forum members after they have
signed in would be nice if possible.
Cheers.

There are other online photo storage sites that do not block photo sharing to other sites. So you could use them in place of PB.
I have used PBASE.COM for all my online shots since early 2000's and have never had any problems....no adverts on site, full screen image display. It's great.

That said, I wanted to support this site so bought a VIP membership and use the file upload option to store thread images directly on the site...that way they should always stay here.

The deal is, that if others viewing aren't using either Chrome or Firefox browsers with the photobucket image fix add-on then they won't see it, that's unless the person posting the image has paid $399.99 for "3rd party image linking/hosting" which is no longer free as it once was.

[*]Plus 100 Plan: 102 GB of Storage for $99.99 / Year. The Plus 100 Plan allows for unlimited image linking but does not allow 3rd party image hosting.

I use "fotki". It is very easy to use, just drag and drop to input your pictures. There is an option under share that formats the image for posting in forums. Just click it to copy and paste it into your thread. There is a very minimal charge of 2$ a month for 100GB of storage. It's much more user friendly than Photobucket ever was.

Can you or others see my photo now?

I'm going to expand on that first post a little bit.

If you are posting photos and not having any trouble with it. Then proceed.

If you are clueless as to how to post photos and are unable or unwilling to master it then the VIP membership might be your best friend.

There are a lot of examples of confusion that would have been cleared up with a single photo. Don't discount how important they may be to getting the good advice you want.

The photos also help keep archived material pertinent.

Thanks for listening.

Does not show on my phone and it does not have the browser add on that allows bypassing PB's blocker. My pc has the add on but can't check due to it is down waiting for new motherboard.

"Does not work on my phone" might be a hint.

"Easy" is good , so sign up for a VIP membership:) for fast photo downloads
