So day one, 344 Klm's on the clock, 2015 machine been sitting in a garage for most of its life, those days are over for this lady..!!

Most of the alloy is dull, pitting on front wheel where I assume the wheel sat stationary, throttle grip literally perished (not through use obviously)

Front wheel and rear wheels off, rear came up well as id expected but the front where the pitting was proved a problem, I was nervous to go at it with too abrasive emery paper but went for 120, 400, 600, 1000, wasn't getting what I wanted so looked around and a mate recommended a company, dropped it at Ash's Spoked Wheelsmiths, Capalaba, Brisbane.

Ash's Spoked Wheels http://asw.com.au/ did an awesome job.. also bought a Uni paint pen and yellowed the Dunlop on the tyres. Re- tubed as the original did have a slow even though I changed the valve.

After reading the forums and some great help from Richard-7 and TonyA I purchased the Bosch coil packs, new leads, iridium plugs, BMC performance filter and gearbox breather kit. Awesome, all fitted easily with no dramas, was very pleased with the breather kit especially as it was well thought out and designed, simple but clever.

Told my mate that I had bought new earnings for my Girl friend ;) Motolana bar end mirrors, did investigate Oberon mirrors but couldn't find any with the black and silver look like these ones.

Pro Sport grips to replace the OEM tat that perished, Oberon (English company great quality) CNC fluid caps, I had looked at the whole replacement but simply liked the "simplistic clean" look of OEM plastic reservoirs with the anodized silver caps.

New plate arrived, Queensland has small licence plates fortunately unlike the UK dinner plate sized ones !! cut n shut the reflector and dremmel'ed the plate hanger, pondered the whole Carbon number plate hanger but couldn't see myself attacking it with the dremmel

Much tidier !!

And there we have it, been raining here so no chance to get any decent out doors pics, plan on taking the seat and pillion perch to a local upholstery company to have the foe leather worked on, also have a forum post about the CRG carbon levers that I'd like to get (need some advise here if anyone has experience)

...... to be continued.

Well done, that looks great. Amazing result on those rims. I hope you like riding it after all that work!

As a man who clearly applies attention to detail, you might wanna look at some screws / plugs to replace the stock mirror stalk things. You’ll have one LH and one RH thread. I forget the part number and details but I bought some black anodised ones intended for a Ducati. I quick eBay search should yield results.

Thanks Eddie, I had used those plastic screw caps you get on ikea flat packs with a small dob of silicone, mainly to stop water etc collecting but I think your right on the the attention to detail.

I can do better :p

Must also add, I have been diligently packing and storing everything that has come off so far, HT leads, coils etc as they really have had no use but need saving of course.

I’m afraid that just won’t do bluey old chap. The unused stock stalks look like something that belongs on a central heating radiator...

Your life will not be complete until you’ve got some of these:

I see fast eddie didn't need to ask you to remove the reflectors. But what was very noticable, no mention of tank pads :D

Awesome shots...!!

Now imagine you had clipon's and a cafe racer :p

Very funny!

There’s no denying that it was better on the track with clip ons (it had clip ons last year), but I was surprised that the ape hangers weren’t as bad as I expected. For the first few laps I felt like a police motorcyclist, but I soon got used to them.

However, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the clip ons may one day find there way back onto the bike...

Usually they don't wait 'till you get your helmet off before they ask "What's it like to ride?" :) (SportsBikeShop bike night last Tuesday)

On this occasion the guy on the Yamaha to my left followed me in for the last 5 miles and when we pulled up he gave me the thumbs up, I can only think that was for the sound eminating from the shorts and not for my choice of helmet :)
