Pension Fund not running quite right

I thought Eirk was wanna the good guys ?
Erik was a good guy. His only issue was not wanting to wait for HD to make a sporty liquid cooled engine . That's how I saw it . I often wonder if he would have just carried on with HD , might they still be making bikes ?

Don't get me wrong. Erik is a great guy! Just not the best business man. People liked to take advantage of him. Some of his employees lost their jobs because of all the bullshit the sharks put him through. He really tried to make the Great American Sportbike. They just wouldn't let him. I own a 2015 EBR1190SX & I love it!!

Very nice!

Erik was / is a very innovative motorcycle engineer and designer with something bordering on an OCD approach to his design principles.

Difficult to see too many parallels between EB and SG I think...

I had an S1WL, ranks near the top of my list of regrettable sales, it was a blast, not very comfy but pure adrenaline rush every ride.

Meet your Norton share holder / money man.

Ahh yes, that well known Norton fan - Mr Norton India, worth a look up and you will see from his track record he is far from gullible, not sure he would drop the money needed without massive tie in and majority control.

Indian made 650's it will be then.

Well, if he’s that successful, I’m sure Mr Firodia is a very astute businessman. And let’s be honest, that’s a good thing for Norton. As his access to ready cash!

As to the India built 650s, well I’m sure they will cos they’ve been saying from the beginning that they will build in India... for the Asian market.

The rub will come when / if they build them in India AND U.K... and one is 30% cheaper than the other! That’ll be a real test for the ‘Brit bikes need to be built in Britain’ brigade (myself included BTW).

A bit like luxury Swiss watches must be made in Switzerland, I hope Mr Firodia and Co see the value in, and build on, the notion of Norton being a luxury British Motorcycle which must be made in Britain.

Guess we’ll have to wait n see...

make the expensive versions here....UK production only suitable for high margin products.

And as of April 2020 Ducati will now be made in Thailand just like Triumph

Pensions are going the way of the dodo bird in the US. First, Reagan changed the rules to allow the corporations more access to pension funds for "business" purposes. Then, after most single-payer funds went belly-up due to underfunding, 401k's became the popular option for companies to fund employee retirement programs. The main difference is, if you lose your ass in a Pension Fund, someone goes to jail. If you lose your ass in a 401k, you just lose your ass.
