I have been working up a list for some time now of replacement parts and sensible upgrades.
These are all items I use and have done to my own bikes. They are variations of current known mods and replacement parts. All chosen to achieve the same outcome.

I have received PM's from forum members for these products and services over the years, and have had great feedback.

I feel now is the time to start offering them here, in a single place. I am going to work with Jerry to add them to the Shopping cart, it is getting to be too much to organize them thru PM's and email.

As with all these items and services, they will be completed as time allows, and in the order they are received.
As this is my hobby, Family and Work obligations come first. I do try to complete things in a timely manner, but is sometimes not possible.

I have the capability to blast and Powder Coat all the parts of a Commando, shy of the frame.
I have 80% gloss black in stock, along with many other colors.
I also can do Alloy polishing, this does take quite a bit of time, especially if there are nicks and corrosion.
Welding services for Alloy, SS and steel are also available.

Here are the Items I am going to offer:

Replacement parts:

Spiral retaining ring - replacement for the 060752 clutch locating cir clip

Belleville Washer - replacement for the NM24948 Alternator rotor ¾ lock washer

Belleville Washer - replacement for the 063447 and 063459 clutch fixing washer and tab washer.

Gearbox shaft X-rings - drop in replacement for the 04-0005 kick shaft and 04-0006 shift shaft.

Repair services:

Head fin repair – Available on a quote basis. I have had great success on my own bikes.

Barrel fin repair - Available on a quote basis. I have had great success on my own bikes.

Modification services:

Front Engine mount - Narrow front ISO mount for vernier ISO's

Oil tank reinforcement - strengthen the two top mounts and add a doubler plate to the bottom.
(I do not remove the lower mounting boss, just strengthen it) Includes new HD rubber mounts.

Transmission Cradle – Spindle clamping with SS hardware and Transmission opening relief cut.

Swing-arm – Add boxed reinforcement to earlier round tube only swing-arms

Fork slider top nuts – Machine for New double lip wipers and include a set of double lip seals.

Clutch spring compressor tool

*Quick change cam bearing - Requires machining of both cases. Includes Needle bearing for LH case and removable needle bearing and carrier for RH case.
Allows for future cam swaps without splitting cases.

*Swing-arm Spindle Covers - My own design, Heavy duty SS, brass or alloy end-plates.

*PR style head steady - Only 2 left, will consider another run if there is enough interest.

*Oil pressure gauge assembly - My own design, does not adversely alter the bike.

*Alloy front engine mount

*Alloy Transmission cradle

*Alloy Swing-Arm

Note: Items preceded with a * may have extended lead time due to stock on hand. Alloy Items will have a long lead time due to the excessive labor involved.

I see; PR stands for Production Racer. The Part is known to me as «Norvil Headsteady».
That's the one I have but changed the front clamp to a broader dimension because the small narrow original looks suspicious to me.

Some of my wares, because without pictures it didn't happen :P

I say go for it. Put it out there and see how it goes. Jerry has the transaction aspect covered. Even if you never sell anything (highly unlikely) you're really not out anything. The market will decide the demand and then you can determine if you need to quit your day job...

Some real nice work there.

Care to give some stats on the front iso weights - stock and aluminum?

Care to give some stats on the trans cradle and swing arm weights - stock and aluminum?

Also take note these are handmade Bespoke parts.
Alloy Versus Steel
Front 8.3 os versus 1lb 10 oz
Cradle 4lb 4oz versus 9lb 12 oz
Swingarm 3lb 9oz versus 7lb 7oz

The pounds add up quick. Also switching fron internal to external fork springs dropped a pound.

I say do it! The world needs more motivated people like yourself. I'm personally sick of people who can't meet a deadline, communicate in a timely manner, or do quality work. I'm a timber framer and stain grade finish carpenter so I appreciate the attention to detail and high quality. Good luck.

Well if my math and units hold up correctly:

Alloy Versus Steel
Front 8.3 os versus 1lb 10 oz (1.11 lbs weight reduction)
Cradle 4lb 4oz versus 9lb 12 oz (5.50 lbs weight reduction)
Swingarm 3lb 9oz versus 7lb 7oz (3.87 lbs weight reduction)

(Total weight reduction 10.48 lbs)

Not bad at all.

Have you tried that alloy swingarm at all. ?

Looks awful skinny and unbraced for all the loads that have to go through it.
Not to mention a bit endless at the ends, if you see what I mean...

I made it using thicker material, and it is a copy of the braced swingarm. Those pictures are from before it was finished. It is a fairly substantial piece.

I will preface this with the fact that I don't know much about welding... but those don't look like pretty welds. Am I out of line?

Lets just say that the swingarm is somewhere where you don't ever want to compromise on strength or integrity....

Super nice effort bwolfie on all the offerings, will be looking forward to seeing them on the Access online store page. Cj

As I am going thru the restoration of the 1970 Dunstall that I am selling, I keep adding to my offerings.

Would there be any interest in an oil line kit. I have found Gates cloth braided hose, not herringbone, but a reasonable lookalike.
I would offer it in a pre cut kit with crimp clamps.
First version would be later style oil tank, with timing breather stub and oil filter.
This kit would also fit the combat breather.
Others to follow.

I don't know of anyone selling a ready to fit kit, I know you can buy individual pieces.

Hello all.

just read ole swooshies query about welding not being pretty. got a point in a roundabout way. The undercut may be an issue . also smotth finish is a visual sales advantage and eliminates any stress risers.

my experience is if the weld looks shite, it usually is.. The old saying rough but strong is rubbish What really matters is what alloy grade is used here and welding procedure.. specially the swingarm. it could not be commercially pure but I am interested in the alloy grade used.

Also is the swing arm machined after fabrication. parallelism of bush centreline to axle centreline is very important .

I do see so much rubbish out there, especially inappropriate use of stainless. I was taught to be cautious. This does not imply Wolfies stuff is no good. just more information required.

B.Wolfie, good on ya for having a go, I wish you well. But in these days of extreme litigation, you must address the engineering standards in offering parts to the public. the last thing you want is a broken weld on a swing arm that is being used for racing. Some litigous goose would love that .

Again all the best, but some data on the materials and welding procedures would be informative .

Bradley

The aluminum stuff is a far down the road offering.
The pieces pictured are my quick and dirty version 1.0.
One off, Thrown together to prove weather or not it will work.

I need to sit down and fab some production jigs if I am going to make more of these.

I am going to start out with the small stuff and work up as time allows.
