Parking on a slight slope affects starting?

I have had my '74 850 for a few years now. Starts and runs very well. Almost always 1-2 kicks. However, some times after stopping for a visit or bite to eat somewhere I kick it and it has zero sign of coming to life for the first 4+ kicks. After that it may start or take a few more then come to life. It happened last week and I noticed I was parked on a slight down slope. Thinking back, when it hapened prior I was parked on a slight up slope. Is it possible that the harder starting is due to the slope messing with float/fuel level? Has anyone else experienced this? My starting routine is tickle and kick (no choke ever).

I don't think the hill is an issue it'd have to be really steep
It's probably the temperature after a short break
Neither hot or cold

I agree but...

My driveway is fairly steep. I cannot push a bike up it. From cold, If pointing downhill, it's pretty easy to flood and require extra kicks - If pointing uphill, I tickle and kick right away and there's no problem starting.
 
I’ve said in other posts…tickle it then if it doesn’t start in two kicks, open the throttle wide open. Should start on one more kick.
 
Maybe the problem is the electrons from the battery have a harder time going uphil to the coil than when on the level. :D

Fuel taps left open during the stoppage when this has happened? Might indicate fuel flooding or at least overfilling of float bowls and seeping into carb throats, down into cylinders. Don't forget the carb body and bowls will heat up while stopped from heat soak and fuel will expand with temps. I've had a bowl become too hot to touch within five min of stopping. That was with a single Amal carb on a one to two manifold, with only thin heat insulators at the intake ports only.

Yes fuel taps off whenever I stop.
 
Check/clean up all electrical connections. Ignition , coils , kill switches , etc.
Clean all 4 fuel filters.
Stop those slope parkings.
 
pretty sure you are describing the "half-warm" starting drill. Not as straightforward as cold, or hot.

Some of my bikes don't like starting on a side stand others don't seem to care.
Some lean over pretty far.
