Test run found loose oil banjo (fixed), shifting not easy to get out of first (possibly dragging clutch).
Kick start back to normal compression, but my right leg is out of practice.
Basically my corrective action on this Norton P11 was to replace the JS Performance, .060" copper head gasket with a new one.............but only after I resurfaced both the alloy head and the steel barrel set. They both were way out, as far as I was concerned. And kinda a surprise after coming out of a Norton venue machine shop.
I reassembled with same rings, pistons, pins that did show some wear, but the ring end gap was as new.
I had replaced the ignition with TriSpark and that was reinstalled and timed.
The valve tip ends did show wear, so now setting valve gap is educated feel.
Nice to have an original side stand with a new skid plate from Bill.
I am running a steel oil tank and steel air cleaner for current road service.
Nothing sounds like a P11 with shorty mufflers.
