P11 for sale

Apparantly a K2F magneto has been fitted. The coil clamps appear to be there still! Maybe the bike was fitted with a pre-67 G15 engine? Or the PO preferred magneto over points and coil.

Although Bonham's write up says that the frame is a copy of a P11 frame, I don't think that this is true--if you look close at some of the pictures of the steering head area, you'll see tubing there that must be part of an oil-in-frame system. Also, in some pictures you'll see a large diameter tube rising vertically behind the transmission, much like a OIF BSA. Perhaps the frame is really a hybrid of Matchless and BSA ideas?

Attended both Bonhams and Mecum auctions, saw all 3 P11's. Depending on what you wanted, all 3 were reasonable purchases. But the least expensive yellow one looked a bit scary to me. Cobbled together with what may be a Triumph oil bearing frame? When I have more time I'll put up my photos.

The frame on the yellow one was a custom from "Frames by Glenn". There was a little bit of discussion about it earlier in this thread. According to something I read about that bike somewhere, it was supposed to be a copy of a P11 frame, but I also noticed the OIF style backbone, so maybe Glenn was making his own hybrid frames? The write-up I read also said that he altered the steering head "to match a 1965 Triumph".
