These bikes have been stored on the farm for 22 years after schooling, jobs, house moves, garage space, kids, etc. got in the way of riding them. Last tagged in 1994.
They basically just sat in a shed on a turkey farm under a tarp.
They finally were rolled out, power washed most of the gunk off, loaded into a pickup truck, and brought down to my house.
Norton Commandos 140xxx and 149xxx and Triumph 250 that was rebuilt and ridden during 1980s college days.
Amazingly all three kick over and I think they will run after a lot of maintenance.
The silver bike with Fastback tank needed the brake caliper removed to get it rolling. Stuck pads on disc rotor.
The Craven bags have a Sturgis 1977 sticker and KOA campground sticker.

It's a lot of work in the heat of the Mid-West but I still have all the hand tools.
I still have a daily rider Commando and a BSA 441 with tags so no hurry to get them going.

Anyone looking for a project?

Yes, I love to have the red Commando. But I think the transport to Norway are to expensive

Swop the tanks- the silver one goes together with the side panel of the one with the red tank-
Both are from a Fastback.

Yes I'd have to agree with Rivera,, considering the fastback seat incorporates the tail light so if taken off a bike some other way of putting a tail light & license plate on need to be figured out & the fact that the license plate holder on the red bike is someones funky thing & not a Commando part from any year I'd say all the silver parts were originally on that bike.

Commando "R" (pre-Rioadster, post Fastback) used that side panel, too. that may even be one. If so, it would be worth restoring to original spec.

"140xxx" would be too late for it to have been an 'R' type.

The full number on the red tank bike is:
20M3S/140069

The formerly red badge on the headstock reads just 140069 and I can't see a date stamp.

Yep, back in the day when these were fairly recent models, and really used as transportation, parts were swapped around, especially after maybe a wreck.
I do forget how I acquired that red tank bike but I don't recall a Fastback tail section in my possession.

I almost put that sharp tang on the center stand through my shoe the first time I put the bike up.
The side stand is missing, probably for a good reason.

Hello..... More info and photos of the bike with the Fastback tank. Ballpark price ? Thanks. Brad Moore. PS I apologize if I've already sent requests for the above information.....

Here is a rider view of the gauges.
Aftermarket oil pressure gauge.
Ammeter, red hi beam, and double throw toggle switch.
Thankfully no broken glass!
