OUR SECOND 961 MARCH MEET UP ( 31ST MARCH 2019)
It’s March fella,s and this must now be the month for servicing ,MOT,s ,road taxing ,cleaning & polishing AND actually riding, following the success of our catch up at

“RYKA,S CAFE”
Old London Road,Box Hill
Mickleham
Dorking,Surrey
RH5 6BY
http://www.rykas.co.uk/. Let’s do it again

Sunday 31st March is the first day off spring/summer B.S.T. Happens & launch your watch an hour forward, lighter hours to ride back, and bout the above picture, here’s a bike I don’t think we’ve seen on here #27 Dom photo taken in the “ Rykas cafe” parking area ,& couple of pics from last year.
I’m aiming to get there 10.30a.m.the venue is within a couple hours ride of several Of forum members at least, invite open to any Norton of course ,it will be a chance to chat to us owners of our unique experiences on these bikes, good, bad & damn right fun ones at that .
Last year was a real dolly mixture range of bikes there, well worth a visit to kick start & revitalise your biking times after a winter lay off .
& let’s hope we can do some more meets accross the country, inc one at the National Motorcycle Museum, which is after all dead middle of most of us .

So what u say chaps ?

Mine was serviced by the boys at Donington yesterday.

It was cleaner when they’d finished then when I took it!

I’m ready...

Haven’t had much luck persuading my daughter that she can do Mother’s Day on her own. Still working on her!

Good call Fred, it is indeed Mother’s Day then!

I won’t be out to play boys...

Darn, just declared my 961 SORN for the month now that I have another 'toy' MoT'd and taxed :(

Sounds like a plan Richard! Steve

Bad white balance on indoor photo due to strip lights, she's plain ol' grey. Originally grey with a light metallic but had her done in grey with a heavier metalflake and a red stripe.

Rear shocks are U.S.A. 'Progressives', tyres are U.S. Dunlops and zorsts are Supertrapp.... all keeping with the American theme. The original high rise pipes were black and quite dumpy, I much prefer the Supertrapp look and sound. Harley wanted to connect the bike with it's 'flat track heritage' having invested a fortune in getting Branch to flow the modified XR750 aluminium heads but in the end they dumped the motor in a standard XL Sportster chassis so many parts are fairly easy to come by. She produces a claimed 70 horses which at the time was the most powerful production H-D. She is a real handful to ride around town, much worse than the 961, those twin 36mm Dellortos are a pig to synchronise, the throttle is heavy, the brake and clutch are just within reach, the centre of balance is way over to the left..... but she calms down quite a bit over 2k rpm where you can dump her in top (4th) and keep her there and enjoy the ride :)

Stuart 2015,Lincolnshire poacher,Glb a strong possibility ,also the non forum cool guy with SS#13 Dom wiv de megaphones that rolled up at the Ace Cafe has marked on the calendar ,& eh Moir , so we are 5 atm
