OUR 3RD N.O.C. MEET AT NORTHAMPTONSHIRE SUNDAY 15thMAY “WHARF INN” WELFORD

I met Stuart Bodycote in lay by near Donnington to pick up a cam sensor for GLB , he was on a customers 961 , it’s one of the last ones made , look closely at the primary cover & you can see bout a 1cm ridge running around the edge, frame & swinging arm slightly diff connection , those parts were made in India apparently, also clock covers( the drums if yer like ) are a poorer finish

By time I arrived at the “ breakdown “ the RAC man ( breakdown guy) had removed a spark plug, the engine turned over but there was no spark , GLB spoke to SB , “try cam sensor”

, so GLB s cam sensor was installed in my bike ( see pic ) & hey presto mine wouldn’t start , I left GLB sipping coffee whist I dashed North ( 130 mile round trip ) to collect the part from SB ( very helpful sincere chap ) , no tech helpline else where in UK , proving “ Motorvated “ by SB is the go to guy ( Bosch yep )

510 miles , a good long way !
I’d say! That’s epic ass endurance on that plank of a Domi seat Blighty, even given the short err ‘rest’ you had at the side of the road. Maybe the extra ‘flex’ in the frame helped with comfort;)? I’d have to be winched off my Cafe Racer after that mileage!

Hats off to you sir!

It’s GLB on the Dominator special, my 961 is the Black SF , Andover norton open day this Saturday, so another excuse for a proper ride out also we hope to hook up with “ Cliffa” on Sunday afternoon

There was a window of time where the company were buying relays and sensors from ebay etc and mine was one of them. After the last period of garaging due to non starting, I was close to getting it fixed and sold. Stuart from Motavated changed the relays for me for Bosch and fitted a replacement TPS sensor, fixed my slightly warp rocker cover, shoed her with new British Avons and I fell in love with it again. I have only been out 4 or 5 times since, but it starts easily and runs better than ever. A fine chap.

I hope you fellas sort out the niggles and have confidence one more. The chap on the Street is close to 500 miles he told me so he is looking forward to getting it Motavated.

510 miles Blighty = the Norton Hard Man of Kent, big miles and shite weather is no problem for him
