Years ago, 1990, I was invited to see Jay Leno with my friend Mark Pfenning at the Paramount in Seattle. We had great seats and this guy was funny - I thought we'd need to get an iron lung for the woman behind me she was laughing so hard.

Jay knew Mark from a small bar show he'd done and of course they both talked motorcycles after the show to all hours. For this reason, we got backstage passes and were invited by Jay to visit him in his hotel room. So we went up, finished some cold pizza and drank beer, and I mentioned I was having issues finding the Dzus fasteners for the JPN I was restoring. Well lickety-split Jay grabs his ticket cover and scribbled the name of the shop that could help. We hung around until about 2a.m. - Jay is such a selfless guy - and then I went out into the snow and push started my MGB down the slope I had carefully parked it on and headed North on I-90 back home. Good times.

I sometimes wonder about Jay Leno owning so many classic cars and bikes. Designing and developing one car or motorcycle to a high level of excellence might be more satisfying. Jack Brabham might have gained a bigger sense of achievement. I cannot think of anyone who might have done it with a motorcycle, other than Phil Vincent.

That's an awesome story. No Smoking section of the aircraft too! Sadly shops like Supertwins long gone. Still have their T-shirt somewhere!

That's a great story.
Jay is one of the most selfless human's one can have the pleasure of meeting.
Anything gear head related, Jay is willing to talk and share with total strangers as if he's known them forever.
