Passed inspection and paid the RTA fees with no problems. Only had to produce the sales phamplet I purchaced for the Fastback as the inspection station records only whent back to 1972 and they required the weight / horsepower/ wheelbase and some other info I forget. The phamplet which cost me $60.00 au saved me a lot of running around and money.

On the road at last

The info that saved me time and money.
10 miles covered Friday till the rain started and I raced home to run out of fuel in my driveway. Removed the front wheel and checked the front brake as it was staying on and dragging.(interesting riding with aplication of the front brake when you did not want it.) Rechecked the points and timeing, balanced the carbys with mercury gauges plus fuel and the right heat range plugs Saturday morning and off for a play on the Norton with my son on his BMW GS. 35 miles later and home for a coffee, lots of fun trying to get the braking and gear change right, you know what I mean 1970 last time I changed and braked on the other side. Bit of a miss so we play with the carbys and plugs. Plugs black (rich) so remove carbys to go through them again (some idiot -ME- had one needle in the top notch) but down the inlet port and the manifold was that sticky muck that I have seen on here before so I am of now to search for the replys that were placed to solve the problem of the tenk melting . NSW AUS. will be 10% ethonal next year, can be bought now but I wont touch the stuff. I think there was some sort of coating used in the tank in its past life,USA, as it felt sticky to touch inside the filler neck and my other Roadster tank with the same fuel in it for weeks is not sticky/

Isn't that first ride exhiliarating???? Same story here with the gear shifting, but I've only owned right hand shift brit bikes, so it was a bit of duck returning to water.

nice looking bike!
