This is an older thread. But it is the most recent and relevant one I could find.I noticed my factory parts books call for 5 shims (part no. 06.7646) to be used in the oil pressure release valve. Yet Andover norton suggests you only need 2. Although they hedge their bets by saying check the number required. Perhaps the "new" springs from Andover have a different tension, or the body or the shims are machined differently. Testing with a pressure gauge seems to be a very good idea.
