Oil Pressure Gauge...CBS (2018)

While browsing the Classic British Spares website, came across a Norton specific oil pressure gauge kit at a great price. So I went ahead and grabbed one.

Has a nicely polished stainless bracket to mount under the handle bar clamps ( for MKIII's with the console, there is a version with a simple bar clamp mounting listed for Triumphs that should work).
Oil is connected with the included stainless rocker spindle cover plate. This replaces one of the double OEM plates and yes there are locating tabs for the spindle in the plate.
Will update later with install/functionality assessment.
Year old thread....but I just purchased this oil pressure gauge from CBS.
Tornado, did you install this gauge, have any issues with the oil line connections?

This is pretty funny. I sent him a message last night asking the same thing as I am also planning to purchase one.

He reported no issues yet and seemed pleased.

I'm sure he can elaborate further...

Yup all good.
Here are the installed pics I sent to NPN yesterday. Kit came with a 90 degree elbow and a straight connector for gauge end. Originally I tried the elbow but later switched to straight for better hose routing. Connections are by one way push on couplers. No leaks.

Also the kit has a hose protection sleeve, bit like heat shrink but I didnt try to heat it up.

@Tornado Any problems accessing the fork lock? I usually use that when I do a quick run into a shop.

Am wondering about this or the fork nut version, but both look pretty agricultural to me and I am not so keen on the connector. I have drilled spindles and so the primary side banjo fitting is free and I would prefer to use that.

My fork lock is whacked...could never get the key into the keyhole for unknown reasons, so I never checked it for clearance with the pressure gauge mounting. Could always be clearanced with a bit of dremel work I guess if needed.

Not overly fussed with the fork lock on any bike after seeing how simple they are to defeat (seen a few video's with a 60lbs Thai girl just giving them a good push with her foot to break them off, typically fails at the head tube lug and can mean permanent frame damage).

Thanks for the reply and pics Tornado.
My fork lock is buggered too, snapped the locking pin off with very little effort 30 years ago.

I've got two of the CBS gauges, neither using the supplied hose and connectors though. The commando has a braided line to banjo, and the one on my triumph threads into a T junction off the timing cover

What year is your Commando? I just bought same for my 69 Commando and bummer it doesn't fit. might farmer fix it or try and send it back if there is one available for my bike.

Mine is a '74 850. What doesn't fit? The handle clamp mounting bracket or the rocker spindle cover plate? They do offer a bar clamp type mount for the gauge I beleive, to go on different bikes. Unsure what other options are for the cover plate fitting.

The bracket is too narrow for my handle bar clamps.
