Ok thanks. I was wondering if there might be a link but it doesn’t appear to be the case.

Your damaged crank case is almost certainly caused by the loose hardware, once loose, the engine shakes about in the cradle. It’s actually quite common, it happened to mine due to the powder coating crushing and catching me out. Once those fasteners loosen and the oil has leaked out of the crankcase joint, a strip down and re seal is the only way to regain oil tightness, in my experience at least.

After you do a retorque of the head bolts go round and do all the engine and engine mount bolts and nuts. It is mentioned in some factory manuals. Often I find no change. But not always. Vertical twins shake like crazy. Long strokers seem the worst.

When I got the bike, it already had the damage to the mount. I just figured it was from the PO hitting some road debris.

I have have all new hardware coming from RGM and will be sure to hit them all with red loctite and torque to spec.

I avoid loctite on any fasteners I ‘nip up’ frequently cos the loctite can make ‘em feeling quite nipped… even when they’re not.
