Norton WAL replacements

That one seems to work off battery voltage, not alternator AC like the original. I had a solid state WLA that worked like stock, but I forget where I bought it.

edit - yep, the cool cat one is what I had.

Definitely use a solid state warning light assimilator. The original won’t last a year. I think I’m using an 850 MkIII type.

I have the led. Works most of the time. Sometimes i have to restart as it gets stuck on red

Looks like the same item.
Don't think it is....Sparkbright is made by the vendor directly, your item has a different name and likely a different build/design. The Sparkbright is available in different versions, different battery voltage type (LeadAcid vs Lithium etc); uses a flahsing sequence to help determine voltage ranges in addition to colour changes. Also has an ambient light adjustment for night use (on the eclipse version).

I find that all the warning light stock or LED arent bright enough to see daytime.

Oh I've had them since the factory put them on. Sunny day and you cannot see the indicator blinkie at all. I recently put on the Annoying Beeper thingies and it does help. Old guys come from the era of the no indicators or you tossed them upon bike purchase. I am probably less safe with them than without because I find I leave them on.

Strange, full sun viewing of the OEM indicators and the new SparkBright led has not been an issue for me. Though if I'm wearing dark sunglasses plus the tinted face sheild on my helmet, yes the warning lights are considerably dimmer. Maybe it is also an angle to the Sun thing for your issue?

My 73 850 still has what I believe is the original WLA in place. I know that I haven't replaced it in over 40,000 miles of ownership. In 50 years of Norton ownership I've never had one fail. Am I just incredibly lucky or does this part really have a high rate of failure? The WLA is one of the very few parts that I've never even thought about, much less had any worry.
