Norton trouble

If it ends up with Keanu and ARCH then the price for the bike will be very expensive. Have you looked at the price of a ARCH motorcycle ? About $80 K and up . Maybe the Norton can be made for less but I don't see how ? The ARCH has a proven-brought in S&S engine .

It's a boutique bike, no different than the one Brad Pitt endorsed.

So there you go . Will they be able to produce the Norton 961 and parts I wonder ?

It still looks like SG sold it to Jinlang just before the administration. So , no to that . 961 goes to China I guess.

Indian-based TVS Motor Company looks like it’s made the first move to securing the Norton brand

As for the 961 the critical date is not the entry into administration but the HRMC wind up order. As soon as the Wind up is issued then no assets can be sold, the Wind Up order was raised before the sale of the 961 so nul and void.

In the Economic Times article linked in the other thread the purchaser specifically mentions Commando, Atlas and V4.

I hope you're right.

I thought he only sold rights to the 961 engine?

Garners clever like this, wouldn’t put it past him for it to have been worded and packaged as simply ‘outsourcing the supply of engines’... or some such foul play...

Yes it was just the engine rights, not the full motorcycle. If the new owners get their purchase agreement worded correctly then Metro/BDO will be tasked at getting those rights back under their expense or a reduction in the purchase price kicks in.

BDO conducted an investigation as to what the boundary of the sale would be, as they would not be be able to sell it on assumptions.

And where did the monies go from this sale , into a separate secret swiss account owned by S Garner?

Not so impressed with the new owners of Norton, website is still not really updated and a broken links. Rumours of the commando not being made so how are we getting our spare parts etc. You would think a Norton staff member would be communicating on this website, there is even a thread for it.

Maybe they should do what CCM do and come service the bikes at your home, if they still do that. Without a good dealer network, I dont want to be riding 100 miles for any future work.

Sounds a bit grumbly but had a fantastic country ride out this morning, those backroads in leicestirshire, northants are bliss
