Norton measurement please

My Z plates are not standard so an outside to outside measurement would be inaccurate.

But the inside to inside measurement is 264mm.

I’m guessing this is an area where there may be variation between bikes.

Outside to outside 302 mm. My plates are 15.5 mm thick each. Which would give 271 mm inside. So 7 mm wider than Eddie.

This is measuring across the bottom near the rear. The most accurate place would be at the rear isolastic mount but there are way too many things in the way in that area to measure accurately without dismantling.

Not much energy in the rest home today but managed to stagger out to the garage like the other two. ;)

The official frame drawing states 221.99 mm to 222.5 mm between the rear frame plates.
From the inner side of the plates to the outer side of the Z (zed) plate is 36.5 mm. (on my 850)
The spacers measurement would be a constant, the alloy plate after polishing might vary a few microns.

That would get a measurement of 294.99 mm to 295.5 mm.
My metric 850 frame returned 295 mm.

I'd say this is a good number. As I said the only place I could get a ruler in was at the back near the muffler mounts. Given the spacers are at the front of the plates any slight variance in thickness or bend in the plates will show up most at the very rear.

11 5/8” out to out at this location.
