Norton light box sign. This might be a bit of A long shot, but I have acquired an original Norton dealer double sided light box sign from late 60’s early 70’s unfortunately it only has the one side of the sign. Originally manufactured by Cowling signs. It measures 23 1/4” x 16 1/4” and is about 1 1/4“ deep and made of very thick plastic. I’ve stripped it all down and cleaned up the box which is in super condition but I would like to make it complete. Does any forum member have the opposite side that they would be prepared to sell me?

Very cool. Put a sheet of polished aluminum on the back and hang it on the wall till you find the other side.

I cannot say I ever recall seeing one of those signs at a Norton dealership.

But (1), my recall ability is suspect, and,
(2), many of the British motorcycle dealerships back in the '60s were run out of old houses converted to storefronts. The one where I bought my Atlas had a garage out back with a dirt floor .... that was the new bike assembly area, and repair station.

If the dealer had to pay for these signs, it would have been an economic hardship.

I have one of these metal signs, but I cannot tell if it is re-production or original.

Thats definitely a repro Slick.
The illuminated sign I have was from a UK dealership late 60’s early 70’s. I remember one exactly outside our local dealer and when the shop closed down I asked them if I could buy it but was told that it was the last thing the owner was going to take as a souvenir unfortunately. I’ll put it up in my workshop as it is for now with an aluminium backing.

Have you tried contacting Cowling signs? ( a longshot I know, as they may no longer exist).

Thanks for all your replies. I have tried to locate Cowling Signs but I am sure that they no longer are in business.
