Howdy team Norton, i have recently rebuilt a 71' 750 and i've owned quite a few britz over the years but i'm stumped with this one, it starts and idles (chalk that one up) but it refuses to run nice when ridden unless you give it big handfuls and rev it to 7 grand which it does happily but wont run normal it has a boyer ignition

Hi, welcome.
Sounds like a weak/lean mixture in the mid range.
Can we ASSUME it has the two Amal concentrics it was born with?

When you say "refuses to run nice" do you mean it runs rough? Stumbles? Spits back?

Or needle clip fell off?

Needle not in needle jet? This can happen if needle is not guided into place when the slide is installed.
