In St. Louis now, I've 5,850 on speedo, 4,800 miles since I started in Nova Scotia (19th may), had it serviced twice now over here , will do prob another 4,000 here b4 end of next month,so the bikes coping fine, fingers crossed & im always looking around it ,filled it up with diesel once , but never started yet,yep school boy error , but the colour of the pumps is other way round, green is diesel, black is petrol, but also u can have brown & green for petrol to in some garages, had to remove tank & empty in to containers,so can't be doing all that again, bike is really fully loaded with my son on the back now,& we are just getting on with it,done 230 today yep he,s moaning bout a sore backside, I've done bout 330 on me own & it was manageable ,fingers no longer numb after Dave cootes kindly fitted bar risers, (free )& bike service to I may with Richard & Peter howes ,which have helped a great deal.
Had no oil in air box or bottle issues, thought I would of suffered more cosmetic probs, but just twisted a couple of indicators ,a back one cause I had too much stuff in a panier,& a front one from tank bag slipping of bars when I refuelled ,I been oiling chain, wiping it down to.
I'm sure an adventure bike would be more practical ,but bought the bike to ride it.

I met up with Tony A yesterday at the Team MCC the Norton dealer in Chicago ,he had travelled 90 minutes down to meet up which was great,I asked him the best roads to ride locally & he suggested far away as possible ,so we hot footed back to my motel, loaded up & left the traffic behind for leisurely ride to Joiliet, see the photo,s ,never enough time to chat , but grateful for the catch up we had,& another lunch bought for me , cheers Tony.

Good on yer Richard. You've already done more miles than I'll do all year on my 850!

Good luck with the rest of the adventure and do keep us posted...

Hello , Just wanted to say I had a great time meeting Richard and his son last Saturday. I put on 300 miles myself and I have to report 50.18 MPG @ 80 MPH indicated about ( 78 MPH actual ) US Gallons Motad short/loud # map , stock gearing . Sweet spot - mile muncher . There may be a better map for our bikes out now from Norton , I am waiting for the information . This may be the map Richard Pearce is running now , love to try it out.
