Basically ethanol is alcohol based that will dry out rubber whereas petroleum is oil based so does not dry out rubber. So that part is bad for plastic fuel tanks, like the Norton 961 and for FI systems with lots of plastic and rubber bits. As far as performance and such, not sure what it does but the Norton doesn't like it.
