This the second new roadster seat I've encountered that is very hard and gives a bad riding position. The first one I replaced with an original seat which was much better though not in appearance. These new ones are junk.

Earlier this year I needed a new Roadster seat with Gold Lettering and one with Silver. I got the one with Gold from AN - excellent in every way. They don't sell silver so I got the silver one from The Bonneville Shop - at a glance it looked identical, and it felt identical. However, the mounts were not aligned correctly, and it was a nightmare getting it mounted correctly. Also, it cost more than the AN seat even considering shipping.

Wassell used to have good seats, but they don't have them for Norton now.

AN have had the seat bases made and these are far better than those on the older seats which were made by the upholsterer. We have found another upholsterer as the last ceased trading, and have had samples made and they are way more more comfortable than older seats. Currently patterns are being made to make the foam, once that is done we expect to see seats pretty quickly. if anyone wants to pop in and test the new foam and seats we have samples here.

I have a wassel mk3 seat from yesteryears. Pure crap !! Don't think it would fit anything norton related. Think it came from " norvil " but may be wrong. Have had 3 mk3 seats that are nowhere near able to fit. After much modification and even after altering the lip round the back I had to modify the grab rail. The 3 seats have identical pans so sourced from same factory an rebadged. Roy. Ps one did come from norvil !

I only ever bought pre-MK3 Roadster seats directly from Wassell. Between 2019 and 2022 I bought five and have used/sold them all with no complaints. They had steel seat pans and looked almost identical to OEM seat pans.

If you bought Wassell seats directly or from a Dealer, why didn't you return them?

I have no knowledge of Wassell or Norvil MK3 seats.

Because norvil said the seat was correct, I had a rogue Italian frame and wouldn't take it back. I began to think I maybe had one ! I bought another this year from " phoenix ". Same problem. Sent it back, and helped the company , even sending my old rusted pan and made template of hinge bracket which I ground off and transplanted on the wassell seat in the correct position, along with many other alterations. It now fits but is a stopgap. Roy. These are photos of a wassell seat being altered ! Ps , new seat free to anyone is available. Looks great. WONT FIT mk3 ?

Sounds to me like you had an issue with Norvil. What makes you think the three seats are from Wassell? When is "yesteryears"? By "phoenix
do you mean Cycle Gear located in Phoenix, AZ?

I'm perfectly fine with trashing a company who provides poor parts and won't make them right. I am very aware that some Wassell products, especially from 3-4 years ago were crap. That's why when I try a new Wassell product I start with one and don't buy more if they are bad. As a dealer for many companies, I take care of any customer complaints and either eat them or get reimbursed from the company. I have never had to eat anything I've sold that I got from Wassell as they will stand behind what they sell. Any dealer of Wassell products (or any other company) that doesn't do that should be avoided by all.

In case you thought I made it up ? Ps , Reckon the paint was Hygroscopic. In rafters for 10 years. No rust on anything else and only light dust rust under peeling (paint?) .Roy. Blazing saddles (phoenix) in UK. Norvil also sold me mk3 belt drive that was rubbish ! So yes. However , 3 identical seats, one norvil 1wassel and many years later 1 from Blazing saddles. Even down to the wrongly positioned, fewer and too large holes for rubber inserts. I believe they came from India, Pakistan? Roy.

i bought a roadster seat from andover a couple of years ago and was/am very happy with it. Close match to original, fit well and as comfortable as any roadster seat I have used.

I have no dought their seats will be good. Unfortunately not available for a while now. The bases are but I'm not tackling upholstery. After a week of work earlier this year the wassell one looks the part but support points need addressed if constant use was required. OK for my needs meantime. Most certainly not anything like the original to start with !!!even had to turn one of the grabrails tubes into oval from round under seat . Grinders , hammers, snips saws ,drills glue and clamps etc. Wouldn't advise. Roy.
