New Scam Alert

Just a question , for the VIP subscription , it's every 3 months I think can someone let me know what name comes up in your account .
 
Sort of related here... Just paid my vehicle tax online, as I always do (pay it, and online :-) )
Press 'pay now' and get 'we need to check it's you' !?!?
Why would anyone else be wanting to pay my car tax, ffs?? Whatever the reasons I'd be more than happy for them to do so....
World's gone barmy.
 
Another email received today.... Of course the 'receipt' details are only available by download....

'We have noted your request regarding the cost of setup and installation. receipt number MF46C472'

Here's interesting...
In my quest for P11 info I attempted to sign up to facebook yesterday :-)
Using my own name, sex. DoB and email address, I am reliably informed my FB account was suspended in October 1922!!!
Who knew, 'eh??
(Edit: 2022. but either way, first time I was aware I'd even had an account...allegedly!!)

New Scam Alert
 
In Australia, the voice is almost invariably Asian, so I just hang-up. Usually when I pick the phone up, there is a pause which indicates the call is from overseas. Businesses use Indian call centres for everything including scams. I refuse to talk to them.
 
I avoid telephone scams by not answering the phone. I am a sufficiently sad case that the only people who ever call my landline are scammers or dodgy salesmen.
 
Tupperware still a thing? Recall Tupperware parties were all the rage back in the 70's. Could be scammers leveraging these brands from the stone age bc their targets are the oldies amoung us.
 
I get the ones from the sub-continent telling me there's a problem with my internet.
At the first pause I ask "Does your mother know that you're a scammer?"
Some very funny responses, including "You leave my mother out of this, you bastard guy!"

You can also say to the Indian scammers " will I need a large bowl of curry and rice to get through this " 🤭
