Babe on phone......"Get yer arse down here straight away a buy me this Norton. AND a new set of leathers."

Quietly opened our new store at 47 Beak St, Soho, London today. Grand opening end of October, i'll pop the date up on here soon. #Norton Test rides now available in Soho, simply ride out from the store. All models in store, call in for details..

Great!

But as discussed in another thread recently... how can a store like that stay profitable? Especially with Soho overheads?

I hope he's done the maths properly...

Well, He seems to be the one with several multi million pound businesses. Me, I can just about afford to buy his bikes. I think he is shrewd enough to work out shop costs. Prestige items sell better in prestige locations.

If he knows what he's doing, he now needs to open a very exclusive Sushi restaurant next door.
Call it Genuine Norton Sushi.
With sushi shaped like the different Commando models.
Hostesses would be Norton girls attired like the vintage '70 adverts, for historic accuracy only, of course.

those were the days,no offensive of course to any lady 961 er,s

I believe that instead of Sushi there is an actual Glenfiddich bar within the shop. That may be a public transport day out!

Hello Richard , I wonder if this store will have a workshop for service ? The bikes and sales people are pleasing to the eye !

Honestly, instead of this dainty little espresso joint, I'd rather see a greasy old workshop with bikes on the lift and 5,000 parts hanging from the walls and up on shelves, a bunch of old bikers standing around eating bagels and an urn of crappy coffee near by, shooting the breeze about their bikes past and present. This new place is way too sterile.

But maybe Norton wants to attract the more well heeled Hipster crowd in SoHo.
Triumph did that last year with their Road Show for their new 1200/900 models.
I attended 2 of the shows in NYC and let me tell you, you couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting loads of Hipsters.

Use something heavier than a dead cat next time... It'll be more effective... 8)

Hi Tony I don't think any workshops are planned. The area is too congested. I don't think there is even any bike parking in the immediate area. Much like the other shops recently opened, it is for brand awareness and sales. And why not If they make money and more money is poured into Norton, then more money is poured into after sales, parts etc then maybe it will benefit us. Not saying it will but maybe. As for hipsters, if they want to ride bikes more the merrier. Doesn't get in my way. Doesn't change anything I will do. Good God I even have a beard, maybe I'm one and didn't know it. Next Rockers will be despised cos they swapped frames and engines around. To a true Norton purist this would not be tolerated. If someone wants to label other riders then so be it but I would prefer that we all just did what we wanted and not abide by anyone else's set of rules.

Yours The Closet Hipster

I don’t think you have to be concerned with “Norton purists” on this forum.
Members here encompass all of motorcycling.
Grand fathers, artists, engineers, vendors, racers, former racers, bird watchers, pilots, etc…
Everyone has their own unique view of what makes a Norton special.

My ramblings are just an observation of how companies are trying to attract business by targeting the habits, and habitats of the new urban professional (nuppie) class.
