I have been meaning to create this forum for a while. I will gradually try to filter the other P11 thread under "Other Nortons" and move the posts to appropriate places here. Let me know if you experience any problems with this forum.

Cheers, Jerry

Thank you Jerry, We will all enjoy the P11 forum.

Thanks, Jerry!

One suggestion, though.

Perhaps make this a Hybrid page, rather than just P11.
The P11 totaled about 2500 units, built roughly from Feb, 1967 to Oct, 1968.
The G15/N15/33 in all its variants totaled about 5000 units, built from mid-1963 to Oct, 1967, with a few 'special orders' made in 1969.

The G15/N15 series was an Atlas motor in a Matchless bike, with Norton wheels and (after 1963) long Roadholders.
The P11 series was an Atlas motor in a Matchless bike, including wheels and Teledraulic forks.

Owning and restoring one of each, I can tell you they share many of the same issues, and anyone with a problem or question on one may find the answer in a thread about the other.

Very good...I'm in. Let's see what develops.

I made this little video in Dec of 2002

You seem to be the "hybrid Yoda" on the forum,I've got a new to me 1967 N15 serial # 117188 I've yet to see it as its coming from Chicago but it looks great in the photos and it's being bought from a well respected member of the CNO group,so what can you tell me about my new machine,I'm told it's got a mag...being a early 67 bike... It's supposed to be a numbers matching bike, this sounds right to me,I've asked these questions in a previous post but I'll ask again..... I love the look of the high pipe P11 scrambler and would like to replicate that look with my machine.... Of course without making any permanent changes,I'd like to put the high pipes on,which I am reading have clearance issues with the tach drive cable.... Please advise on this,I also would like the small "shorty" seat and the engine skid plate, the bars, fenders, are the foot pegs different too ? seem to be the same.... I am not wanting to make this bike into something it's not and surely a hybrid "expert" will spot the differences, but hey it's going to be pleasing to me and my eye right ? So can you please advise as to what vendors are good and reliable.... And which ones to steer clear of ,does this bike have a oil filter ? Or a sludge trap in the crank ? Any thing you can help with would be much appreciated
Jeff

As already been stated the frame is totally different to a P11 and heavier too. The footrests on the N15 are substantial castings compared to the fabricated ones on the P11 which is a scrambles frame and are not the same.
I can highly recommend Walridge motors in Canada and Mike the proprietor is a font of knowledge when it comes to Hybrids. The N15 was not fitted with an external oil filter but you can retro fit one. It would have had a skid plate but you can easily fabricate one out of aluminium.
Post some photographs of your new steed.
ATB. Paul.

If you look under the 'Other Nortons' section of this forum, you'll find a few threads about the N15. If you go to the Matchless & AJS section, you'll find a few threads about the G15, which is identical to the N15. I've got a late '67, with concentrics and distributor, but the earlier mag and monobloc bikes are really sweet rides, especially the '66 and '67. I have a thread in the Matchless AJS section about my G15, which was a basket case when I got it.

As Thomas stated, Mike Partridge at Walridge in Ontario is the hybrid parts source. He and Steve Surbey at AMC Classic Spares in Beds, UK if you need an AMC-specific part.

thanx fellas ill get some photos up as soon as it gets here
