New Member in the Cotswolds

Mine has been fixed at first service and the mark that it had made on the carbon mudguard was polished out. I have done 700 miles since and no further marks despite being a 100kg lump and some hard braking. It did hit one of those raised sections in the road recently in Uppingham a bit hard and I think it clunked but no marking occured.

What was the fix WR? Was it simply a re routing of the pipes as some of us have done DIY? Or is there a new bracket or similar involved?

Hi Tony,
I see you’ve swapped out the dog eared clamps for jubilee type. Do they work fine? I was a bit concerned about pressure rating. Did you investigate? If they’re standard types I’ll swap them at next oil change.
Thanks

It’s on the return line to the tank, so I don’t think it’s under pressure as such.

Hmmm... interesting... one would hope that the more critical frame dimensions are a little more tightly controlled...?!
Hmmm, you would have thought so, the bracket angle on yours and Tony's are more like what I would expect to see! To get my cooler parallel to the frame rails I am relying on those rubber grommets being 'crushed' at an awkward angle :(

So... it seems my frame was built on the last Friday before xmas hols (after the works party) but my engine was put together 1st day into the New Year (fingers crossed) :)

Be sure to use screw on clamps that don't cut in to the hose when you tighten them. No problems with leaks and works well.

Thanks Tony, I’ll replace them at next oil change, will certainly make it easier

Mine look rivetted.... maybe the rivets don't go all the way into the legs, not going to bother to find out either ;)

You sure?

Pretty sure mine are a riveted on alloy plate...
I ordered gold forks for my anniversary model and received a couple of roadholder badges which look like stamped brass plate with built in rivet heads, curved with a foam backed sticky pad.

From Rob: 'We only made enough to cover warranty and the 50th bikes.' :(

Any Anniversary owners had their plates fall off and need to order warranty replacements?;)

I would say:
Remove the adhesive backing on the plates.
Bond the plates to the fork tubes with J-B Weld.
Then the plates will definitely stay put until the Centennial models are introduced in 2068.

Is it right that they are taking orders now for the Norton Commando Centennial electric three wheel bamboo framed enviro scooter?

I’ll have one, so long as it’s supercharged... and doesn’t have clip ons...

Did you really struggle with the clipons. At first I thought omg, what have I done, I dont think I can ride this much but once I got used to it and used a different lid with better visibility, it was ok and the pressure on the wrists also dissapeared. Had a spin at the weekend and apart from the huge splattering midgeys, it was great. Although took the Guzzi V7 out straight after and it felt so upright after the CR it felt like riding a chopper.
