New British 650 twin

Very interesting, they came from nowhere with those didn’t they!

Decent Kawasaki engines too.

Are they made in England though… or China… Lots of talk about designing it at the NCME National Centre for Motorsport Engineering in Greater Manchester, but no talk about a factory…

"
Dr Anthony Keating and Dr Daniel Keating from Keating Kinetics, with Gary Hewitt and Ian Martin and the owners of the Dot brand, have decided to bring Dot Motorcycles back into market and present the new motorcycles to passionate riders. At the NCME National Centre for Motorsport Engineering in Greater Manchester, our engineers have had the pleasure to work with Guy Martin with his tacit knowledge of motorcycles and engineering he has shaped the Dot into a superior product. The new directors along with the team will capture the soul of the Dot brand and bring it to another level.

Our Dot motorcycles have been designed by motorcyclists for motorcyclists, then tested, rode and consulted by T.T winning and world champion riders. The engineers have done an amazing job with the drawing, shaping and creation of the motorcycles keeping the vintage look. Looking forward to bringing joy on the roads with our two initial models the “Reed Racer” and “Dot Demon”. The two models are hand-made and customisable to create an even more special and personalised rider-motorcycle bond.

We are already working on the creation of new models and for the future electric motorcycles."

I am quite short but find my Africa Twin cramped for leg room (with the seat in the high position)
Those pegs look very close to the seat, perhaps 'Tattoo was the test rider.

Thank god for not just another electric contraption.

Perhaps that street scrambler is a play on the never happened Norton Atlas Nomad.

Well, price is £17000- £24000 depending upon spec. Engine is a Kawasaki. Personally at that price I would have a Paton, much prettier bike and well proven.

I don’t see that calling it a Dot is a selling point.

Anyone who still remembers Dots remembers them being as different from that thing as it’s possible for a motorcycle to be.
Indeed… for those no do remember DOT bikes, the name is hardly enough to make them want a new one. And for those who don’t, it won‘t either.

But if Dogsbody is right about the price they ain’t gonna sell any anyway.

Are they ?

The four they are displaying on the stand at the NEC are sold which is why they will be on plinths so you can’t sit on one. That and the price is what I was told this morning when I rang them.

I'm finding it extremely hard to believe they have sold 4 bikes at that money ?
Sales pitch maybe?

'Devoid Of Trouble' was the message, no? Trouble is, not taking anything away from their competition successes, I believe all postwar machines were Villiers two stroke powered machines of 250cc or less.. Perhaps not the most prestigious of names to conjure with?
Might be there's James, Francis Barnett or Corgi waiting in the wings somewhere?
Or maybe Dot could merge with Cotton and open a factory in Walford??

Me too, especially as I’ve never even heard of them / seen them announced / advertised / etc…

I’d be more inclined to believe they were being kept out of harms way as they were wood, clay, paper mache mock ups …

Or how about a Langen 250cc two stroke for ..... £28,000

I saw one at Goodwood. It was totally fantastic, but £28,000 o_O

Perhaps many think of DOT post war but they were around long before that building bikes with outside sourced engines which was not uncommon.
