Hello Gentlemen,
I am the first to admit that over the years I have not been able to contribute as much as I have taken from this fine forum and appreciate all of your knowledge and support in slowly repairing and rebuilding my '71 Roadster.
I have dreamt of writing an original novel based on my experiences with classic vehicles and tried over and over to get a start on penning a worthwhile story. After a rough time with an intense family illness last September I realized that if not now then never. The result is a novel titled "All Of My Heroes Are Ghosts" which is available on Amazon.com, and Amazon UK etc.. The story is about a young man who is adrift and is questioning his chosen path who finds solace and grounding through the searching for and rehabilitation of a Norton Commando. I tried to capture our collective joy at our projects first running and the thrill of our first rides. Stumbling to figure his life out as he stumbles around with the mechanical challenges of his Norton much of the book attempts to honor those who we all had in our lives who helped us along and taught us to turn wrenches. If you decide to check it out I thank you and I hope it dredges up your own memories of when you first laid eyes on the bikes we all love and fawn over, this is a great hobby and a great brotherhood of those who don't mind a little grease under the fingernails.
Have a safe and rip roaring fall,
-Rob W.
