Navigation Solutions

I am going to give this one a try as it seems a lot simpler to manage as your riding along instead of looking at a screen all the time. https://beeline.co/pages/beeline-moto.
I picked up a Beeline, great little gadget if all you want to do is get to your destination and enjoy the ride. The selling points for me are that it's not intrusive, it's size/weight means it can mount anywhere, and the battery life means no more carrying around a backup pack for the phone or add charging circuits on the bike.

I just went into this thread to post an ad I'd seen for these but you beat me to it! Had a chance to try it yet?

Not on the bike but a couple of times as a passenger in the car. The app is easy and intuitive, I created routes using wifi at home, saves using data on the go. It's going to do what I wanted it for which is as a 'compass' that points to your destination along with a remaining distance indicator, rather than a set route. It provides trip info. as well as a pretty accurate speed indication, and indicates exits on upcoming roundabouts, the only 'glitch' i've found is that if you create a set route and overshoot the turning then it can be slow to recalculate alternate route, but if you are out for a bimble with all the time in the world....

If you need precise accurate instructions (in a city centre for example) or fuel stop locations etc then it can't replace a good old fashioned satnav. On the plus side, it is indeed small and unobtrusive and a 2 hour round trip barely touched the internal battery. It is very lightweight so on a standard ball ram mount (overkill) there shouldn't be any vibration to worry about. I'm hoping to roll something out of the barn soon to give it a proper try, just waiting for that break in the weather.

Just ordered a Beeline after reading this thread. Looks like exactly the thing for Directions on a Motorcycle! Silver to go with my 961 sport and triumph sprint

I like the look of the Beeline on reflection, it is discreet; much more so than having a big-assed mobile phone right in your grid when crouched on the CR. Mounted central to the steering column as my mobile is would work well. Couple of pictures mounted would be good guys?

My concern with the beeline is does it give enough information fast enough to actually use it in modern traffic. So I’ll be very interested to hear the feedback from yooz guyz...

It is no better or worse than other GPS's in that respect, they all seem to lag at a critical moment from time to time. They are a good basic device for sealed roads, i wouldn't recommend for adventure rides etc as they can't recalculate on an imported gpx route.
If you have a bar mount for your phone then the App can be used on screen to show a map as per a normal GPS, but you will need a power supply to the phone as "screen on" will kill the battery life. The downside in that case is that most phones wont respond to touchscreen via a glove, so not as usable as a Garmin/TomTom if using the onscreen option.
