N15 rectifier wiring

Hey guys, I was hoping someone could shed some light on this for me. I just got a new wire harness for my 1966 n15 from Walridge motors. I think it’s technically an atlas harness but was told the only difference was needed to extend the wiring for the horn. I am just about done with it but I’m not sure how to hook up the rectifier. I thought I took a picture before taking it apart but apparently I didn’t. I’ve got a green/black, brown/white and white/green wires but not sure what posts they each go to and my manual doesn’t mention it. When I took the old one off it also had a red wire on the mounting stud for the rectifier, is that where that wire should go? Or is it supposed to be somewhere else? The new wire terminal doesn’t fit over that stud which is what made me wonder. Thanks for any input.

Connect the green/black and white/green (both AC output from the stator) to the two outer rectifier posts either way around (as they are AC) and brown/white (DC output) to the central post.

If it has a two wire stator then I would expect the wires to be green/yellow and white green?

A late three-wire single-phase stator would have a green/yellow, green/black and white/green.

For 12V operation green/black and green/yellow would normaly be connected together.

ive got one more question i forgot to ask before. down where the three wires plug in to the stator there is a long white wire with a ring terminal on it. any idea where that goes? my original harness has that wire but it was cut and not hooked to anything, not sure if maybe that is for a different bike or something?

According to Norton wiring diagrams from that period, white can either be the magneto cut-out wire or ignition coil wire for battery/coil models.
 
the wire does see like its about the right length to go to the mag, but it has a ring terminal on it. the bike currently has a wire coin gout of the mag through the plastic screw on cap and just runs straight up to the push button on the right side handle bar. is that not how it normally is?

The mag "kill" wire originally had a ring terminal on it.. On my Atlas, it is a white wire and runs to the dipper-horn-kill switch on the left handle bar.

You state "....wire going out of the mag through the plastic screw on cap ..." implies the wire does not originate at the brass terminal in the center of the screw on cap. The cap should have a threaded stud in the center, to which the ring terminal should be attached with a thumb nut.

If you remove the cap, there should be inside, at the center, a carbon brush. Something has been bodged if it is missing.
