Mystery substance in primary case

I have not been satisfied with my clutch, very jerky and nasty take-up. I decided to check and see what was going on in there and found a real mystery. There is a yellow crayola [crayon] like substance in the primary case! It's very concentrated in the inner portion of the crank magnet but also coating the outside inner portion of the clutch basket. It has a soft putty like consistency . I thought at first it must have been something that precipitated out of the primary/gearbox oil but the oil appears normal. WTH, any ideas out there guys? Britjunkie.

Could be moisture (condensation). Moisture and oil make that yellowy type substance -- similar to what comes out of the air box drain in the spring and fall time. Got pics??

What oil are you using? DO you change it every year??

I figured it out I think. I put the wrong oil in the Primary/gearbox. Don't put Redline V Twin transmission oil in your Norton, It's for separate stand alone gearboxes only. Jes, I'm getting stupid.
