There is one thing I dislike on all 961's, so I made this piece this afternoon to improve it. But what is it?

I think it will cover the steering stem nut , my guess . Some of the models had a dome style steering stem nut , which I prefer .
 
It is the parts which is clipped into the clutch slave cylinder on the front sprocket cover.
There is also mounted a little steel ball.
 
Some good and hilarious suggestions, but none correct yet. If it helps it's 48mm diameter.

I like that Cliffa, nice job. Interested to see if it stays on with the vibes .. Has the weather in Switzerland been kind enough for you to try it out?

Maybe custom ones can be made with the rider's initials or a Norton 'N' engraved :)

Thanks Gazz, no I have the primary apart at the moment so have been riding the "Himmy". Not sure I'll be out on it again this year TBH, as the temperature is dropping now.
