4 months , But hopefully things are going to be better now.

I think you are right. With recent addition of Norton UK and Norton US reviewing this forum, it should get better. Time will tell, but I am starting to feel optimistic.

I hope this will be the case for the Swiss customers, too.
I am still waiting for an answer from Norton UK on my question about development of spare parts delivery to Switzerland.

Hi Raphi

Our previous Swis dealer has retired and we are awaiting the new owners to take over. Please bear with us while we get this in place.

Regards

Simon

My bike will be going in to get the crankcase cracked open and sealed up. The service dept. at Gold Coast in NY took photos ahead of time to discuss and get advice from Norton before doing so. Have a few other niggles besides the oil leak, but that is the main one. I hope the communication process goes well. The new guy at the dealership really seems to be on the ball. Hopefully, Norton will reciprocate with some positive communication. I'll call to follow up tomorrow. I'm not going to just drop it off and lose it for another 5 months. Wish me luck. Things do seem to be getting brighter all around.

Hello Britfan , By all means make sure they install that transmission vent.

I'll bring that up, Tony. But unless its Norton supplied, I doubt they will fabricate their own. Thanks for the tip.

This sounds like a good question for Simon Marshall . Have Norton addressed or acknowledged the need for venting the transmission ? Will Norton support dealers that do this for its customers ?

I've been holding back posting about the tools and parts we will have available until we can release them all at once. But we have some REALLY NICE vent kits available. I'll post pictures later today. Easy to install, just follow my manual. Also, this vent kit will come with a real nice air box drain with a real nice easy to remove plug in the end. You would think it came on the bike. Does not look aftermarket at all. Super High end caps with a real nice 90° elbow.

Give us about two more weeks...... We have loads of items to help out the Norton 961 Community.

I did not have the time yet to read all the threads here.
Can you give me a short answer what the advantage of installing a transmission vent is?

The Trans build up a lot of pressure and there is no venting. So what happens usually is the Starter Gasket goes and oil comes out. Then you will replace it and it will keep doing this until you vent the transmission. Per chance you make a real tight strong seal at the starter, then it will push oil out somewhere else.

If you vent it, this problem goes away. We sold a lot of proto type vents to locals or a few people from this forum. Some people couldn't wait and made their own. Whether you choose to buy ours or make your own, it's worth it.

My starter gasket blew, but so did any seal btw the crankcase halves. I weeping oil there and the dealer wants to crack it open. It's not bleeding profusely, just seepage, but its annoying enough. Other than that, all is rosy with the bike. I want that vent.
