I think Triumph already issued a recall on the plastic bit that was tugging and cutting the wires. Glad yours got resolved in your favor.I had the same problem with the fairing fitment causing the wiring harness to fail.
I fitted the fairing and the failure occurred long after warranty ended.
Triumph could have said the problem wasn't covered because it was owner installed rather than dealer installed.
They also could have just said, " Sorry, you are well past the end of warranty"
I was pleasantly surprised when the message came back from Triumph UK that they would cover all costs associated with the problem.
I saw the invoice for the repair. Iirc it was $1250 as the ignition and seat lock were changed along with the harnesses.
The shop I purchased the Triumph from carries something like 11 brands between motorcycles, snow mobiles, jet skis and ATVs.
The service manager said that of all their brands Triumph gives the best warranty coverage and was the only one that would, in some cases, pay to fix out of warranty problems like mine.

There is more wiring slack in the headlight but when installing the fairing the technician needs to release the wiring so it isn't so tight from moving the headlight out bit.It was a major recall, no matter if the warranty had run out, or if the dealer or owner installed the fairing kit mine didn't have the problem but was replaced on the recall, maybe down the road I might have had problem, in over 6 years of owning my Thruxton 1200 S with fairing kit I have had no problems at with my 2016 model (brought new 2018 old stock heavily discounted).
First WC 1200 Thruxton model, so whatever Triumph did, they got it right first go, the newer model also have a little bit more HP added but I am happy the way mine is, its plenty good and gets me into enough troubles lol.
