Mounting later side stand to early frame

My bike came without a side stand and the centre stand has bent the bottom frame rails. Have decided to change both to the later types. Problem is I can't find the measurmen for the location of the forward x member that I need to put in place before I attach the new side stand mount. Can some one help with some dimensions.

I was also thinking about changing the centre stand for the mk 3version that mounts to the cradle instead of the frame as the old one seems to have bent the frame lower rails. From the searches I've done it seems you can just drill the cradle to take the mk3 stand. Is this right and should I remove the rear x member if I have the front one?

Do you already have the mount?

Old Britts has the mount with a jig to get the right angle. I suspect that Fred could give you the location for the cross bar.
