motor won't pull

If the bike has ever run properly in the past, it is probably a flooding problem - a float sinking , or a piece of crap between the float needle and seat.
If it is the chokes being left on, your bike should run properly without coughing when cold, then get sluggish when hot.

If it's still in the shop, bad luck, as the 7th of September from 0800 till post 1800 was a perfect day for riding, even with the smoke haze.
