Moto GP Exhaust

Ducati has a perforated cover in the end of there exhaust which could have been added to stop rocks from the gravel traps entering the exhausts when Rossi threw the bike away?
But now Honda has it also,,,,,,
Why?
Perhaps to dull the acceleration?
Or for Marquez?

Exup is probably about moderating noise levels while using much more radical valve timing to get more torque.

Well that made me smile, I once put Dave Degens famous 24hr winning race bike in the gravel at Brands, it must have kinda gone in backwards somehow as both silencers and exhausts were packed SOLID with gravel !!

That wasn’t the only damage of course.

Dave was not impressed...

You could have cheered him up if you had said you got him some free gravel for his drive!
