I used to dirt race and ride with these fellows almost 50 years ago.
Lately we have been doing some road touring together. The ladies asked to come along, so we rented a house on Vancouver Island, Port Renfrew.

My friends get a little annoyed when we fill up with fuel or stop in any public place.
People are always drawn to the old Vincent. The either want to know what it is, or they know what it is but have never seen one in the flesh, much less out on tour.
There's just no interest in the Beemers or even the Africa Twin( a rental).
Sometimes you almost have to be a bit rude to get going and back on the road.

This is the 47, engine #38, built very early in Vincent's totally new postwar design production. As the engine # denotes, this was the 38th bike built after the war.

Love the photos, It's great that you are still friends and all riding after all those years. May I ask what the Star Trek shapes are on the back?

Cheers,

cliffa.

4 LedTurn arrows, 2 on the top box, 2 on the number plate mount.
The big light in the middle of the top box is an LED second brake tail light.
The original STOP brake tail light has an LED circuit board in place as well.
I was riding with a friend in the rain when we became separated on a Freeway. I knew he was behind so I pulled over to wait, hazard lights flashing plus taillights on.
He said he could see it easily from a mile or so back.
Yes, I want to be seen by the cagers!

Hi Glen, I did wonder, but I’ve never seen that type before.

Thanks,

cliffa.

I bought a complete spare set for the Vincent drawer as Arlen Ness has discontinued them.
I really like the look of the little turn arrows on the old bike. I guess in my mind somehow it goes with a brake light that has " Stop" spelled out in metal.
Plus I can find my Vincent easily when it's in a herd of 350 like at the 2007 IOM :)

Glen, that’s an awful lot of blah-blah explanation.

Just come clean... you’re a Trekkie...

I was for awhile- then I heard William Shatner speaking to an auditorium full of Trekkies
He said
" Im very honoured and I have just one piece of advice for all of you.. GET A LIFE!!"
