Hi boys, a few short questions...

Q1) MKIII Gearbox: Inner Cover, group 7, ref No. 19, Part No. 04-0079 "O" Ring Rachet Spring.
Were these o-ring's ever actually installed by the factory?
If so, for what purpose?

Q2) MKIII Gearbox: Inner Cover, group 7, ref No. 15, Part No. 04-0035 Spindle, Selector.
Should an attempt be made to seal this where it threads into the shell?

Q3) MKIII Gearbox: Shell, etc., group 6, ref No. 37, Part No. 04-0131 Spacer Sprocket.
Should an attempt be made to seal this to the sleeve gear at the bearing inner race surface?

Q4) MKIII Gearbox: Shell, etc., group 6, ref No. 38, Part No. 04-0070 Nut, Sprocket.
I searched up some reference as to which side the big chamfer faces but nothing definitive.
Does the nut chamfer face towards or away from the sprocket?

All advice is welcomed in advance.
All the Best.

In the amendments section of my paper copy parts book, it states: "[Group]7, Item 19, 04-0079 Deleted - Not Required"

Yes, sealant on the threads will reduce the chance of leakage - but I'm not suggesting that it will definitely leak if you do not use sealant.

I don't know the definitive answer, but I guess it does no harm to seal the joint.

Chamfered side goes towards the sprocket.
