I like magic - send a link to the magic BTW, the full schematic is linked and the turn-signal indicator section is shown in my write-up - the diodes are ONLY used for the turn signal indicator, not for the others as you implied.Of course, there are people making LEDs with the two built-in diodes, but you do not wire those across the two sides, you wire them as I do and there are three wires involved rather than two. There is even a way to do it with two wires in some situations, but I spend enough time helping people do it the simple way so I'm not doing down that complicated road!
