I purchased a pristine MK3 way back in '94. The prior owner removed the starter, anti backfire shaft assembly and a few other related peripherals but were kind enough to include all in my purchase. I am now reinstalling these items for the first time. When they removed the starter they removed the anti backfire shaft assembly and this left a hole in the inside of the inner primary which they neatly plugged with brass. I will extract this plug and reinstall the anti backfire shaft in the hole. My question is this: What will prevent this shaft from leaking oil? There appears to be no provisions for a seal / o-ring . Is a sealer used or is the fit typically snug enough to prevent seepage.
Image provided shows that A will be inserted into B once the plug is removed. How to seal?
