Hi all, can anyone supply some pics of a rear iso MK 111 conversion fitted to the cradle, preferably clear views (out of the bike would do) and the dimensions of the solid and adjustable end caps?
thanks and regards Mike

Hi Mike, will you be running open post classic next year? be good for the BMW to have another Norton to chew on... :)

Hi John , yes that is the plan!!!
back to India for five weeks on Monday so progress stops during that time.
Just finished the AMC box 4 speed, can use it to get me going while saving for a TTI Off to put Redfline Liteweigh shockproof in it.
Have been intouch with Jiri at Ignitech and also Maurie Smith in CHCH regarding Rex Caunt crank driven ignition system.
Have ordered one from Rex Caunt and may even get the Ignitech later on as a comparison .!!!
See you next year Thanks for heads up with Gordie, he delivered my wheel after Manfield
Regards Mike

I had plans for the BMW but in the end just got it running pretty much stock. I find the only track I ran out of top gear was Puke with its long back straight, Taupo I gear it down and could probably get away with it at Hampton Downs.

After a season I am mid pack and can get past the mid 70's Harley 1000 with ease, but not the 67 900 one....been dicing with a 850 powered featherbed. Its a lot of fun when you have someone
to play with. 20 races and only one DNF and that was a blown fuse.....

With the gearbox, could you not use a pre unit Triumph with the 5 speed cluster?
Even in the Open Post Classic group there is some serious money poured into some of them bikes....you can tell by looking at whos running Avon treaded slicks.... :D

Gordy is a good sort, those sidecar guys and gals are in a class of their own.....I would not be keen to swing on one.

Thanks everyone for the replies, Ken has send the part no's as well. Can anyone supply me with a MK111 .pdf copy of the parts catalog?

John, yes I started with just the basics with this build but as I got further into the internals of the bike and attended more race meets i could see the sense in being a bit more thorough with it all while at this stage.
I have modified the rear brake drum so I can change the rear sprockets instead of the gearbox, so dont have to remove the clutch each time.
Although the standard rear sprocket cast to the drum is 42 tooth , my starting point will be 44 and start with a 21 or 22 on the gearbox. Test runs will tell all.
What is your estimated top speed at Puke and what sort of RPM are you pulling down there with the BMW?
Regards Mike

Not sure of the top speed, around 200 kmph. I can lap faster than on the Thruxton I had and it was good for around 190/200.
Your right about the internals as I get more points on reliability than speed....the BMW is limited to 7500 at the moment till I go titianium retainers, custom pushrods, beehive springs and stainless valves, and I have the mk 2 engine on the bench under development.
Puke is losing its back straight next year.
