Mk111 horn mounting

These warnings are on most aftermarket horns I have used in the past. I believe it is because the mounting bracket permits correct resonance of the whole horn, the horn is tuned to work with that bracket. Altering it will affect horn output, volume and/or frequency.

I run the Fiamm Freeway Blaster Low Note horns on both my bikes and had them on cars. Very effective in modern traffic when needed. On Commando it is mounted in stock position without much trouble using its included bracket.
Does it crowd the oil line like the Lucas horn?

Hey @jamesp, great to see another seasoned member chiming in on the horn topic! I'm also a fan of the Fiamm Freeway Blaster Low Note horns; they've served me well on my bike and in the car. Those horns really cut through the noise of modern traffic, don't they?
Regarding your question about whether it crowds the oil line like the Lucas horn, it's an excellent point to consider. I don't have personal experience mounting it near the oil line on a Commando, but it's a concern you should definitely keep in mind when choosing a horn. If you're looking for alternatives, you might want to check out https://bosshorn.com/products/dewalt-train-horn. I've read some stellar reviews about its compact design and robust performance.

I have a pair of Fiamm's and mounted them in an unobtrusive but accessible position - on the Z-Plates.
Better noise and easier maintenance!
Cheers
PS: This photo was to demonstrate the kickstart functionality of my "half-way" rearsets - hence the fishing line
