Hi All. I believe I have a mk3 kickstart lever fitted to my Hemmings 850 Norvil. When riding, the lever moves out to the "start" position & fouls me leg!
The chrome cap that holds it on has no flats so it's not a nut, could it be a "fast fit" type push on clip?
I didn't want to get brutal with it, yet!!!!
TIA

I think you have a pattern kickstart. The genuine Mk3 kickstarts have a dome nut, they also have a ball and spring to stop the arm swinging out as you describe.

Does it look as if there could be a roll pin holding the cap on?

The disassembling-kick-start-lever-t3818.htmlThe photo by arc - last quote on the link is exactly like mine. Do we know if he got it apart?

I don't remember hearing any more about it.

Evenin All. The kickstart problem has been solved! I wore a decent pair of glasses(silly ol b'stard as my son says)! Upon a closer look, there is a circlip under the chrome dished washer, removed that & hey presto all was revealed!
Thanks to everyone for their input.
