Missing the politics in the "pub"

In this election/news cycle (which seems to be 24/7/365), EVERYONE is either a "person of color", "marginalized", or "racist". There are no other categories you can consider yourself in, whether voter, candidate, or innocent bystander. Unless of course you happen to be a TV or movie personality, in which case you are as pure and perfect as rainbow snow.

I dislike the man for reasons that extend far beyond his political policies. Whatever that means as he is barely a politician.

"Hate" was your word, not mine. Using it serves to discredit legitimate arguments as it connotes a certain blind irrationality.

He didn't win the nomination based on his political experience. He won because he was louder.

I am allowed to object to the POTUS based on the content of his character.
If you read my previous comments here I never name called, please do not use the characterization to diminish my point.

As long as we're on name calling, shall I list some of the president's greatest hits?

Frank, I'm sure you have some wild stories from the Bronx, congrats on making it out of that shithole alive haha. ;)

NPC is an a abbreviation of Non Playable Character - meaning automaton characters in video games who only repeat the same lines and do the same couple of things - in other words they don’t learn they don’t think they just repeat what they are programmed to do and say

I note again - hear speak see no evil - typical closesd minded lefty behavior and coincident with the Tech Left’s censorship of late

Thanks for opening my eyes to that tech centric, video game insult.

I'll try not to trigger you next time snowflake.

meanwhile...back in the real world we used to call this NPC person the village idiot!

NPC:
Not POTUS' Cheerleader
Never Promoted Clinton
New Political Chaos
Nonsense Promoted Cheerfully
Nation's Presidential Clown...

Feel free to join in - no video game references allowed though

What?

Are you having a stroke Bill?

Baltimore ranks 8th; that’s Elijah Cumming’s District. He is one of the most powerful members of Congress. He has the gall to call out the Border Patrol for running a sh**hole?

Typical lefty “projection “ of his faults on others.

The truth hurts.

I cannot believe what I am reading here. Am I the only one reading this?

Is this the twilight zone? Are you two citing a "Rattiest Cities" list compiled by a pest control company?

This is embarrassing...

Maybe those Russian bots at work here , elections coming up ....

If anyone should know where the most rat infestations are it should be a pest control co. but as usual don't let facts get in the way instead let the biased media run the story line branding him a raceset because he was not as PC as burnie when he labeled it as a third world city. more info for this shithole.

this from the left infested media. IMHO he stated the truth on baltimore but dont let facts get in your way.

Starting to sound like one of those "NPC's" we learned about earlier there Bill.

There isn't much left for me to say at this point. Your own words speak volumes on their own.

From the BBC news feed today:

Democrats from Virginia's Black Legislative Caucus have protested against a visit by President Donald Trump because of what they termed his "racist and xenophobic" rhetoric.

They and other Democrats boycotted the visit.

Mr Trump travelled to historic Jamestown to commemorate the 400th anniversary of representative democracy in the Western Hemisphere.

Followed by:

It says much about modern America that at a celebration of this country's democratic roots, there was a protest against its democratically elected president.

Make of that what you will, just a report from the media.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

-Theodore Roosevelt.

Welcome to America, make of that what you will.

but it is a 2 way street except if a "person of color" happens to be on the receiving end of the same criticism it now make it a racesem issue no matter if it was deserved or true. damn the facts as long as it meets the narrative.

I'm not sure what you are getting at here, nor am I interested in pursuing this conversation further.

Maybe the politics should disappear from the pub, starting to get out of hand and seems to be all about the US of A and Trump, who ever is in power was voted in whether you like it or not, but really all politians are as bad as the other and if they are bad at it we all suffer and not just in the US.

Pete,
I would not advocate any situation which prevented criticism of a political leader by the people. The problem we have today is that figures like the President or our own Prime Minister - Boris Johnson - are criticised no matter what they do, not because they are bad leaders or are making poor decisions but because of where they come from or who they are - history will decide whether they were good or bad for their nation.
By all means, call out a public figure if they have done or said something which goes against the accepted norms in society but criticism for the sake of criticism leads to polarisation and entrenched positions - which is exactly where we are in many countries around the world.
The re-emergence of the far right nationalist parties, especially in Europe, should concern us all but people seem so focussed on directing their anger towards certain public figures “at home” that the big issues of social injustice, child poverty, inequality, hatred for anyone who is not like us gets lost in the rhetoric.
John

Thank you for making that point John and I do agree with you, the world has far bigger problems than Donald's latest tweet or what school Boris attended.

Unfortunately the big issues you mention above are not high on Trump's list of priorities, nor are they important to most Republicans in congress. Instead, the crowning achievement of the Trump administration thus far was cutting corporate tax by 15% leaving the middle class to make up the difference. Not to mention issues like climate change, income inequality or systematic racism, half the country doesnt even believe they exist.

I would love to hear more opinion on your situation across the pond. I am sick to death of hearing the name Donald Trump.

Can someone change the subject??

In Canada we have the Son of a well liked PM as Prime Minister right now , heading into Oct. elections , the only viable competition has a smirking twerp (haha!) as leader .... our current PM is most well known as trying to be Mr. Dressup in his international travels ..... how is that for similar tone of discussion .... forgot to mention current PM is doing politics different ( campaign slogan last time ) and instead of decriminalize Pot he legalized it so the greedy rich folks could make even more $$$ ..... like the world over same only different, eh ...
